Pastoral Team:

The Pastoral Team at Hope Baptist Church is dedicated to rightly dividing the Word of God as well as demonstrating the love of God for all through ministering to the needs of people both in our church as well as in the Hanover area. 

Senior Pastor-Allen Harris

Reverend Allen G. Harris, Senior Pastor and Hope Christian School Administrator

     Originally from Sellersville, Pastor Harris and his wife Karen came with their family to shepherd Hope Baptist Church in 2000. During his ministry at Hope, Pastor Harris has demonstrated a loving heart for his flock and a steadfast desire to stand for the truth of God’s Word. He has a degree in Bible from Bob Jones University as well as a Masters in Pastoral Ministry as well as an Honorary Doctorate from South India Baptist Bible College.
      When he’s not visiting, studying, or working on things at church, Pastor Harris enjoys reading, playing table games with friends and family, and bowling. 
      Pastor & Mrs. Harris have four children and 11 grandchildren. 

HCS Principal-Walter Fordyce

HCS Principal

     Pastor Fordyce has been in Christian School Administration for over 35 years.   He holds a degree in Youth Ministries and Education with a Master in Christian School Administration.  He has been at Hope Christian School for ten years and also teaches Social Studies, History and Government. 
     Pastor Fordyce’s dedication to Christian education was evident when he joined with the Maine Association of Christian Schools in in the early 80s in a lawsuit against the State of Maine for the right to educate students using the Bible as the basis for curriculum without State licensure.  Ultimately the suit was successful in Federal Court. 
     Pastor & Mrs. Fordyce live in Hanover.  They have two adult daughters and eight grandchildren. 

Mr. Aaron Armstrong,
Youth & Children’s Director

     Aaron grew up in the Hanover area and has been attending Hope Baptist Church for over 20 years.  After graduating from high school, he attended Bob Jones University and earned a degree in Humanities (’11).  After graduation he married the love of his life, Amber, in 2013.  They have lived in the Hanover area ever since.  The Armstrong’s head up the children’s ministry and youth ministry at Hope Baptist Church.  Aaron completed his Masters in Biblical Studies in Spring of 2018.
     When not at church or school, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing his banjo or guitar, and taking photos of trains.

Miss Karissa Hershey, Church Secretary
Karissa is the newest member of the HBC staff.  She is a graduate of Hope Christian School here in Hanover (’17) and has lived in Hanover for most of her life.  She enjoys music, both singing and playing her flute, and various forms of handwork.
