Hope Baptist Children’s Ministry
Churchtime Ministry — Sunday at 10:45am Every Sunday our children enjoy the opportunity to worship the Lord in their own churchtime service. Our children in 3rd grade and below meet in the main auditorium with their parents for the opening of the morning service. After some of the songs, our pastor has a special time with the children called “Preacher’s Pals.” At that time the children come to the front of the auditorium and pastor gives an object lesson or demonstration with a Biblical truth for the young children. The children are then dismissed to go downstairs to special church time services designed just for them. Prepared workers will have a song time, game time, Bible lesson time, and sometimes a craft project that they will do. The lessons are right on their level and apply the teaching of the Word of God to their own lives. Their service is concluded at the same time as the adult service and parents can pick up their children downstairs in the church time room.
Vacation Bible School
Every year our young people love VBS. They have special games, lessons, snacks, and visits from special puppets. Our workers love to treat the children to special contests, prizes, and a great time learning the Word of God.
Sunday School Classes — Sunday at 9:30am Every Sunday before the main worship service, our children meet in classes with other children of their own age. We have classes beginning with infants in our nursery all the way through the teen and adult years as well. Every age level teaches the truths of the Word of God on the level that the children are able to understand. Even in nursery we can teach children that God loves them, that their parents love them, and that we need to love and obey our parents and the Lord. Students not only grow in their knowledge of the Word of God as they study together, but they enjoy the fellowship with each other. Teachers generally endeavor to have several times of activity throughout the year to love and minister to their students. These may be parties held around the holidays, a trip to the zoo, or a time of games and fun. The truths learned from the Word of God form the basis of understanding the Scriptures while building their beliefs and character for life. The Scriptures tell us that we are to teach our children, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little,” (Isaiah 28:10). The consistent teaching of the truths of God’s Word helps to guide young children to follow the Lord and become well-behaved young people ready to be productive in our society.
